|Kiddieland (AKA Kiddie-Land, Kiddyland & possibly Whizzoland) was located at 8420 Wornall Road, next to Parkview Drugs (8326) in Kansas City. This was probably considered the southern-most edge of the Kansas City limits at the time of the park's heyday.
The park was open until 10 PM every day except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Tickets for children's rides were less than a dime. A 1953 ad for the park lists the following attractions:
Slogans used in advertising the park:
Fun Spot For The Kiddies
Every Modern Ride For Kiddies
Whizzo's Favorite Playground
The earliest reference to the park I have found is 1951 (white pages) and the latest 1960 (white pages). Around 1964, a Ben Franklin store that was previously at 8306 Wornall, was listed at 8420. In 1965 the only Kiddieland listed in the phonebook was at The French Market at 93rd and Metcalf, and Fairyland Park at 75th and Prospect.
